Designing within Cultures

As an American with lineage to Tanzania, living abroad has shaped Waridi Valentine experiences. From living in seven countries globally, her focus and passion evolved and centered within the development and strategic operations of multiple projects. Over ten years ago Valentine developed an independent creative enterprise organization to provide community engagement projects and sustainable design methods to promote experiences of the African diaspora. With a Masters in Design Management from Pratt Institute, her educational background is interdisciplinary in both psychology and business strategic management aligning with a mission in social impact. For the last four years, she has been award grants for proposals supporting education for children and income-generating activities for women to provide their families, all within the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania.
